Brute ‘fired gun at baby’s face and blinded her – before blaming infant’s toddler brother and trying to have their mum killed’

A BRUTE has admitted he shot an eight-month-old baby in the face and then tried to blame the infant’s toddler brother, court documents claim.

Tyrell Bitsilly, 21, has now told cops he fired the gun that left the baby girl partially blind and deaf in December 2018, according to local reports.

He and the baby’s mum Shayanne Nelson originally told police the girl’s brother found a gun in a motel room in New Mexico, US, and accidentally fired.

But last week, the case took a turn when police accused Bitsilly of arranging to have Nelson, 18, killed to prevent her from testifying.

He has also been served a warrant on suspicion he was seeking to arrange the killing of a retired military medic who helped save the girl’s life.

The baby girl was struck in the face by the bullet at the Zia Motel in Gallup and was rushed to a hospital where doctors put her in a medically induced coma.

Following the shooting, Bitsilly, 21, and Nelson were both charged with child abuse.

Nelson, now 19, pleaded guilty and agreed to testify against Bitsilly, her boyfriend, as part of her plea agreement.

“Tyrell Bitsilly believed that Shayanne Nelson was going to testify against him because she knew what really happened that night,” Gallup Detective Chavo Chischilly wrote in the arrest warrant.

“Tyrell Bitsilly also knew that he would end up in prison for 18 years or more.”

Police also wrote that Bitsilly wanted the paramedic, Casey Franchot, killed because Franchot allegedly saw him wiping off fingerprints from the gun with a rag.

Bitsilly has now been charged with criminal solicitation to commit first-degree murder and bribery of a witness after the additional accusations were made.

Detective Chischilly reported that FBI Agent Ken Fetcher contacted him in August because he received information that Bitsilly wanted to find someone to kill Nelson and Franchot.

Bitsilly remains in custody.

His trial for child abuse is set for December 10.

It is unclear when he is due to be tried for the additional charges against him.
